A man has been arrested after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at Romford station.
British Transport Police said its officers were deployed to the scene just before 8.30am on Tuesday (April 25) within minutes of receiving reports of the alleged assault on 999.
They were informed that the alleged culprit had left the station by then, but were given a description of what he looked like.

A man, 50, was arrested within 20 minutes by officers, a BTP spokesperson said. He remains in custody pending further enquiries.
The force encouraged more people to report sexual offences and said in a tweet: "We are committed to tackling sexual offences on the network and your reports will always be taken seriously."

A text can be sent on 61016 or a call be made to 999 to report such crimes to the BTP. Alternatively, the Railway Guardian App can also be used for the purpose.
