A college is reportedly in “lockdown” after a stabbing in the area.
Police were called to Ardleigh Green Road in Hornchurch this morning (February 21) to reports of a stabbing near to New City College.
A male, whose age has not been identified at this time, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Metropolitan Police says the force awaits to find out his condition.
The road is closed between A127 Squirrels Heath Road and Nelmes Way, with the 256 diverted.

Students at New City College have reportedly been told not to leave their classrooms following the off-site incident.
A spokesperson told MyLondon: "We are investigating what happened and the college is currently on lockdown so no students can come in."
The college has been contacted for further information.
No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries into the stabbing continue, police said.
