Additional patrols are ongoing in Hornchurch town centre after two men allegedly attempted to lead a young woman away.
Footage on social media appeared to show the men approach the woman, in her 20s, and try to take her down the alley between Nando's and The Fatling pub on Tuesday evening (February 7).
A Met Police spokesperson said it is "too early" to say if it was an attempted abduction or kidnap but that would form part of its investigation.
They added enquiries are ongoing and the alleged victim, who did not suffer any injuries, has been spoken with.

Officers are trawling through CCTV to try and identify the men, according to the Met.
“While our enquiries continue additional patrols are being conducted in Hornchurch town centre,” the spokesperson said.
Police are asking anyone who thinks that they may have been approached by these people to call them on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 5402516/23.
