A man was taken to hospital after a fight involving a man swinging a “machete”.
Footage circulating online shows two men battling each other, with one brandishing a large bladed object on the A127 near Gallows Corner in Romford.
Police closed off the road on Friday (January 13) after reports of the fight at around 3.50pm.
According to the Metropolitan Police, one of the two men was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson said: “The condition of the injured man, aged in his 20s, has been assessed as not life-threatening.
“He remains hospital but has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him, by road, to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
