Hundreds of people turned out as Hornchurch commemorated those who gave their lives in service of their country.
Romford Drum & Trumpet Corps provided a fitting soundtrack for Sunday’s Remembrance Sunday parade in Hornchurch.
Servicepeople and veterans, as well as representatives from the police fire , cadets, cubs, scouts, brownies and guides took part as the parade marched from the centre of town to St Andrew’s St Andrews war memorial.
Havering deputy mayor Cllr Stephanie Nunn laid a wreath and later took the salute as the parade passed Hornchurch British Legion.
She estimated hundreds of people had turned out for the event.
She said: “It was a wonderful parade. The band were excellent.”
Havering Mayor Cllr Trevor McKeever laid a wreath as part of an Armistice Day service at the war graves at St Andrews Church on Friday.
Wreaths were laid at the cenotaph and the Rev Ken Wylie spoke at the ceremony, attended by a standard bearer from the British Legion and members of Havering Residents Association.
