Romford's B&M has had to close its store on Market Place due to flooding.
A sign outside the store states it will remain so "until further notice".
B&M describes itself as a “variety retailer”, selling a range of products from food to toys and furniture.
A spokesperson for B&M said: "We have been made aware that due to a leak at the Premier Inn at the site, we have some water ingress into our store.
"We have temporality closed to clear the water and ensure that we get the store open as quickly as possible for our customers."
Premier Inn has been approached for comment.
This comes after the Met Office issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for much of the north, east and south-east of England, with the potential for flooding as a result of heavy downpours.
