A children’s singing coach is in the running to be crowned winner of a local singing competition and to win a record deal.
Lauren Sanders, 27, from Rainham, is one of eight finalists to be competing for in the Factor Essex.
She was previously a coach at Lightnin’ Drama Group and Thunder Productions in Hornchurch, but has now decided to swap teaching for competing so she can chase her dreams of performing.
She said: “It’d be my dream to sing at the 02 in front of a huge audience- though I wouldn’t be turning up late like Justin Bieber!” she said referring to the singer turning up two hours late at the London venue earlier this month.
Lauren began singing at the early age of three. Though never receiving a professional lesson, Lauren would train her voice with her mum’s help and is now being mentored by performer and business owner James Grant; who was hired by Factor Essex to help contestants unlock their singing potential and judge the finalists.
She said: “James has been really supportive, helping me to better hone my singing abilities.”
Lauren often sings locally around Havering and has performed in London venues in the past, but she now wishes to record an album and tour the UK, as promised to the winner of Factor Essex.
To support Lauren, text Factor Lauren to 85010. Texts cost 50p plus one standard network message, or visit her voting page on facebook.
