A Queen’s Hospital scientist was awarded an internal award by the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust.
Wijayaratnam Nagaratnam, a senior scientific officer in microbiology, was recognised by the trust last month.
At the presentation ceremony Sir Peter Dixon, the chairman of the trust, said: “It’s so important to reward hard work and say thank you to staff.
“There are over 5,000 people that work here and it is difficult to choose only one person to receive a Star of the Month Award. “However it was clear to see that Mr Nagaratnam has made some real achievements and is thought of very highly by his colleagues.”
