Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed on a train which had left Romford a few minutes earlier.
The 23-year-old from Ilford was with his girlfriend on a service on March 11, around 1.50pm, when he got into an argument with three men, before being violently attacked by one with a small baseball bat as the train was between Maryland and Stratford stations.
A second man then took money from the victim’s pocket.
British Transport Police are especially keen to speak to members of the public who stepped in to help the man – who only suffered minor injuries.
Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting B4/LNA of 04/04/2013. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
