A former city worker from Upminster has been appointed as St Francis Hospice’s newest trustee.

Pauline Russell, from Upminster, said she has long admired the work of the Havering-atte-Bower charity.

She said: “I have friends who are involved with the hospice and I always thought if I could add value in any way then I would like to contribute to their truly amazing work.”

The hospice in Broxhill Road, which offers free end of life care for people with cancer and other life limiting illnesses, in Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and west Essex.

Pauline said she hoped that her past experience in HR will help her ensure that “governance is done correctly.”
