More than 300 people came to celebrate Eid, an important Muslim holiday, with the Havering Islamic Cultural Centre.
Celebrating the end of the fasting period of Ramadan, members of the centre served warm meals to families, Havering mayor Cllr Philippa Crowder and police officers, who joined them at Waterloo Road, Romford, on Sunday.
Members of the Neighbourhood safety team and Redbridge mayor Cllr Gurdial Bhamra also attended the party.
There were plenty of games for children, including face painting, while guests were given a tour of the mosque and a brief presentation of Islam.
Secretary at the centre Pervez Badruddin said the day was “excellent”.
“It’s very important to get all the communities together under one umbrella. I was over the moon,” he added.
