The latest member of staff at the store in Mercury Mall has been getting a lot of attention from shoppers.
Shoppers at Wilko in Romford have been getting a bit of a fright from a spooky new member of staff.
The store in Mercury Mall welcomed Mr Funny Bones this week, and the new store assistant has been spooking out customers who have stopped to take a selfie with him.
As part of the store’s Halloween decorations, the team have tried to give customers a “spooktacularly good shopping experience.”
Whilst hunting through the pick n mix for trick or treaters, shopper Richard Wyatt was left looking pale in the face when he walked up to the till to pay and realised that the gentleman serving him actually wasn’t alive.
Richard told the Recorder: “Wilko is a regular haunt of mine..... but I didn’t expect to see that greeting me when I popped in for some bits for my garden!
“I could see that the woman stuck on the till behind was getting in everyone’s photos as well, she’s probably as popular on social media as the skeleton!”
A spokeswoman from Wilko said: “At Wilko we exist to free up hard working families to be the best they can be and we know Halloween is a fun time of year for our customers so our team members at Romford wanted to give our customers a spooktacularly good shopping experience.
“After all, Halloween is no delight without a good fright.”
