As many as 15 people have been injured following a bus crash in Gidea Park this afternoon.
Police were called at 1.55pm today - Wednesday, May 18 - to reports of a 174 bus in collision with a wall at Main Road.
Officers attending alongside the London Ambulance Service (LAS) found that the bus had left the road and collided with a perimeter wall.
There are believed to be up to 15 casualties, whose injuries are not thought to be life threatening according to the Met.
An LAS spokesperson said: "We treated 15 patients at the scene.
"We took five of these patients to hospital, and one further patient also made their own way to hospital.
"The remaining nine patients were checked over and discharged at the scene.”
Tom Cunnington, TfL’s head of bus business development, added: “Our thoughts are with those who were involved when a 174 bus collided with a garden wall in Romford today.
"We have support available to anyone affected by this incident and a full investigation is underway.”
