A jury reached the verdict on Daniel Chappell in around three hours on Thursday, after a four-day trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Essex Police’s chief inspector Colin Cox made the observation during a meeting of the council’s crime and disorder panel on Tuesday evening.
Peter Chappell told police he was driving at 30mph when he hit Alliyah Bell in Hythe Hill, Colchester, in 2021.
Lee Hawkins admitted to allowing his address in Legerton Drive to be used for drug-related activity from January 2022 to April 2024.
Chelmsford Crown Court heard on Tuesday how Goode, of The Bury, St Oysth, shouted: “You had better drop that kid before I shoot you.”
A jury was played footage of a witness account given by Leah Green, who was with Alliyah Bell when she was hit by a Ford driven by Daniel Chappell.
The teenager stole the bike in July and appeared in court last month where he admitted one charge of theft and one charge of handling stolen goods,.
Stephen March's farm has been targeted again by vandals, but he says police have failed to pursue any evidence he has offered them.
