The director of an 'all you can eat' Asian buffet restaurant chain has thanked his customers after the firm won three top awards.

Cosmo, which has an outlet in The Brewery, Romford, has been voted Best Multi-Site Restaurant in the UK, as well as Best Restaurant in Scotland and Northern Ireland, at the Golden Chopsticks Awards.

Kan Koo, partner at Cosmo, said he was "delighted" with the triple win adding: "Standards were so high across all of the categories this year so we're really thrilled to win among some fierce competition."

Best Restaurant in England was won by Colindale's JM Oriental, which also won Best Dim Sum and Best Restaurant Design.

Co-founded by friends Gok Wan, Lucy Mitchell and Sarah Lewis in 2018,
the awards have become one of the largest celebrations of East and South East Asian food in the world.

"What makes it even more rewarding is that it was all a public vote.

"It’s great to see our lovely, loyal, guests are behind us! As for the ceremony itself, we always have a great time at The Golden Chopsticks Awards.

"The GCA team really pull out all the stops and keep the whole room thoroughly entertained.

"A smashing time was had by all!"

Gok Wan, who was made an MBE in 2020 for services to fashion and social awareness, said: "The evening was a wonderful success full of wonderful recipients.

"They work so hard and they all cheer each other on. It's a great night."
