A Poundland outlet in Chadwell Heath could be closing this week.
Residents and nearby businesses have claimed that the budget retail store at 51-57 High Road will shut down on Wednesday (May 15) and that most of its stock has already been emptied.
Staff members at Chadwell Heath Post Office, Griller restaurant and Hunters letting agents, all in High Road, told this paper that there are closing down sale signs up on the store and there is “barely anything left” inside.

This was echoed by residents who claimed that they have been told by staff members at the shop that the site will close this Wednesday.
One resident told this paper that she has seen a “to let” sign on the top of the store and when she went there on Saturday (May 11), a Poundland employee was putting up 50 per cent off closing down sale signs.
“Somebody I know said they went and there was hardly anything left. A lot of people will miss having that down the High Road”, she said.
This paper contacted Poundland for confirmation of the closure but is yet to receive a response.
