LAS said yesterday it was called at 12.05pm to reports of a crash at the junction of the A127 and Gallows Corner.
A man was treated at the scene for a head injury and taken to hospital as a priority, LAS added.
The A127 had been reported closed by the AA at 12.51pm yesterday.
This led to the closure of that road into town from Ardleigh Green Road and Squirrels Heath Road to the A12 (Gallows Corner).
