More than four months after a kitchen fire forced him into temporary accommodation, Romford’s own Elvis impersonator said he is feeling “ten out of ten” as he settles back into his flat.
Kevin Elsbury, known for his regular Market Place performances as ‘Kelvis', had to stay with a friend before moving into a Travelodge after a blaze started by an air fryer tore through his home on November 8 last year.
At the time, he said he felt lucky to be alive, having fallen asleep and only smelling the fire upon waking up.

The work on his flat ended up taking longer than anticipated, with Kevin telling the Recorder previously that he felt as if he was in "dire straits" as he waited for it to be completed. However, now he has moved back in, he said he is "happy, ten out of ten happy".
While he still has several items lost to the fire which need replacing, such as a new curtain, Kevin added he is looking forward to donning his gear and putting on more shows in the coming months.
“I’m ready to rock and roll again, in the summer when the weather is better in the market.”
